lifestyle eating

    Lifestyle eating

Recent estimates suggest that nearly half (47%) of Australian adults suffer from at least one preventable chronic disease linked to diet, with cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes being the most prevalent. As the incidence of these conditions—often attributed to poor nutrition and sedentary lifestyles—continues to rise, it becomes crucial to comprehensively understand the pivotal role nutrition plays in all facets of health.

    A nutritionally adequate lifestyle plan

Most developed countries have government departments that offer comprehensive guidelines on dietary and nutritional recommendations for the general population.

In Australia an outline of the basic dietary guidelines include:

Guideline One - To achieve and maintain a healthy weight, be physically active and choose amounts of nutritious food and drinks to meet your energy needs.

Guideline Two - Enjoy a wide variety of nutritious foods from these five groups every day:

    • Vegetables
    • Fruit
    • Grain
    • Protein
    • Dairy
    • Water

Guideline Three - Limit intake of foods containing saturated fat, added salt, added sugars and alcohol.

In spite of the wide-ranging economic and social differences between countries worldwide, malnutrition in some form touches every nation on the planet. As a result, addressing global health challenges hinges on the critical task of providing all individuals with access to nutritionally balanced diets.

This is where lifestyle eating was born for me, I looked at this industry and saw it was dominated by “diets” most often driven by the need to be skinner, fitter, younger and so on. You will notice I talk in regards terms of lifestyle eating, not a diet, that’s because 100% of diets are designed to fail, they are not sustainable, and this ensures failure.

Lifestyle eating is different, be very clear, this is NOT a diet, this is a plan that needs to continue for your lifetime. So what we do is customise an eating plan personally for you that is sustainable to your lifestyle, ensuring success and by an optimised nutritional intake we offer the best opportunity for long-term health benefits. It is your journey to a healthier, happier you!
